On March 3 prominent human rights defender Novella Jafaroglu marks her 70 years anniversary. The merits of this PERSON with a capital letters are undeniable. She devoted rest of her life to the human rights defense. Dedicating 30 years of her life to human rights fight, she continues to be an avid activist in this area.
Novella Jafaroglu is a well-known representative of civil society not only in Azerbaijan but throughout whole former Soviet Union. For many years non-profit organization after her leadership (Association for the Protection of Women’ s Rights in Azerbaijan after D. Aliyeva) helps thousands of people to restore their violated rights.
We heartily congratulate Novella Jafaroglu on a behalf of all members of the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders and wish her many years of living in a free, democratic and thriving society, the struggle to which she devoted most of her life.
